Radio City Music Hall!!
http://www.archive.org/details/gd80-10-26sbd.remaster.18896.sbeok.shnf
A real mellow show with an acoustic first set! (Something I wish the boys would have done more often in the later years)

Iko Iko, Dark Hollow, It Must Have Been The Roses, On The Road Again, Jack A Roe, Cassidy, China Doll-> Ripple Jack Straw-> Sugaree, Little Red Rooster, Brown Eyed Women, Let It Grow-> Don't Ease Me In Jam-> Samson & Delilah, Althea, Estimated Prophet-> He's Gone-> Drums-> Not Fade Away-> Stella Blue-> Good Lovin', E: Brokedown Palace

I promise you this show will not dissapoint!!
The acoustic set is a pure beauty. It's a re-mastered sbd
so the sound quality is a 10!!! The electric set is soooo
laid back and mellow you will melt!!! NFA and Stella is outstanding!! The whole show is just sooo sweet enjoy people!

Peace, Wharf

Gotta back up Rat on this one, very very solid show from the get go. Quality of the recording is just about as good as it gets for this period. Like he says, the second set is one you put on when you're ready to sit back and drift, really pretty stuff here. Give it a listen, you got nothing to lose.

I don't even care that it is the 80s...thank God you guys are posting on this just like nothing was wrong with the forum...I can only hope that the good posts come to eventually outnumber the bad ones (from my exaulted position as former forum prime minister)...

I was still going to shows this year, and the next, but drifted away in 82...80 had some fine, fine memories for me though.

Thanks for the reminder.

Hey Will - I think the forum can absorb these minor insults we've had lately. Not too much too worry about really. I reckon I could quite enjoy a good acoustic set from the 80s, but I promised cush that I'd give this one a listen:

So, I've got Radio City bookmarked but the eighties will just have to wait a little while...

Yes, I agree...just caught my eye this morning (the 'bad' posts) and a bit of a downer.

Give 6-14 a listen too; the StSt, though the quality sucks, is one Hell of a version...

Thank you Wharf, this looks like just what my somewhat ruffled feathers (or pillow hair) need... Cueing it up right now.

My apologies to all if I went off a bit last night, but I took that post as an insult to all of the good people here and the Forum in general... Sometimes I just can't keep my mouth (fingers) shut!

Note to W Tell, what do you mean by "former Prime Minister" ?

;)

PS. I will return to my true self tomorrow...

Hey Cush--assumed that after the big battles of a ways back, I had to step down; right? I gave my blood, sweat, toil and tears speech, and I think by defn P Ministers always step down after that...

Hmmm, maybe I should have used another Churchill: this is not the end, nor the beginning of the end, but is it, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

On the other hand, maybe you were just asking as to who in the Hell appt me PM?! Can't recall--think it was a lurker back when Dire was King and Dancin was queen...

?

Dare to be different my friend... Step back up! You are the epitome of diplomacy! I should probably speak to you before I go off next time...

Not to worry old friend; if PMs didn't have cabinet members to keep things shaking, governments by and for the people or the monarchy or the tyrant or whomever would be pretty boring.

Lets keep this place moving forward.

Good one my friend; ironically enough, we were watching the Queen yesterday when we heard the news about Blair (if you haven't seen it, he comes off quite good in the flick; hard to believe he started so long ago...).

Cush ... no need for any apology from my viewpoint; you said what needed saying, and that's good enough for me; stay the Cush of old, never change; glad to see you around ... if i get the things done that need doing, maybe i'll catch you later in the chatzy

Wharf ... you said it my friend, excellent show and thank you for turning me on to it, the Stella Blue a version that gave this doubter an entirely new understanding, and as tigerbolt says, very fragile version, one for the ages for sure
